Home → EstiMate Version 1 → General FAQ → How does EstiMate calculate double sided signs?
To answer this question it is necessary to do a comparison of how EstiMate does a one-sided and a two sided sign. Essentially for a one-sided sign EstiMate makes calculations based on the following:
1 Piece of substrate (e.g. coroplast) including all cost, markup and size information
1 Amount of vinyl including all cost/markup and coverage data
1 Design Time
1 Production time
For a two sided sign EstiMate does the following variation on the formula:
1 Piece of substrate
2 Amounts of vinyl (one for each side of the sign)
1 Design Time
1-1/2 Production Times
What we can conclude from this is that for a double sided sign EstiMate figures that the sign fabricator will be using twice the amount of vinyl as on a 1 sided sign and since the sign fabricator is ' on a roll ', so to speak, after doing the first side that it will take him/her half as long (production time) to do the second side.
