3.45. Error when trying to import contacts using 2002+ option?

I get an error when trying to import my contacts using the 2002+ option. What is happening and how do I get my contacts imported?

The import contact function 2002+ does not work with international versions of QuickBooks due to limitations in the QuickBooks XML specification. See below for and alternate import procedure.

If you are not using an international version of QB but are still having difficulty importing contacts then make sure the following are true and try again:

1. You are logged in as administrator in QuickBooks.
2. You are in single user mode.
3. EstiMate and QB are both on the same machine and are running at the same time.

The process of getting your records into EstiMate can still be easily done. Here is a suggestion:

1. Export your customer list to an .iif file from quickbooks. (Hint: be sure to name the file before exporting it.)

2. In estimate click Management > QuickBooks link > Import contacts from and choose the import contact from quickbooks pre-2002 option. This is the option that asks for a file. Once selecting the pre-2002 import option you can direct the utility to where the .iif file is saved and import it.
