3.97. Key Violation Error?

I am getting a key violation error when trying to duplicate entries in the databases like retail items, substrates, vinyls etc. What is the solution?

This error occurs because the description of the duplicate entry is beyond the character limit EstiMate can accept for the description.

Solution:
1.Click 'OK' on the key violation error message.
2.Click on the green OK checkmark to exit the database you are working in.
3. Re-enter the database by clicking Edit Data Files and the selection of your choice from EstiMate's main screen.
4. Search the database carefully for an entry starting with New *, where * is a wildcard that can stand for several different identifiers including 'recurring item' and 'material'. For example: In the substrate database the entry in question would be called 'New Material' in the retail items database it is called 'New recuring item'. Your objective is to find this entry and DELETE it from the database.
5. Edit the description of the entry you wish to duplicate and make it shorter. Save the edited entry.
6. Continue with the copy procedure as normal.

Tip: Use the following procedure for copying entries in the databases.
1. Highlight the entry to be copied and press the copy button.
2. Immediately edit the entry you copied and erase the [COPY]
identifier EstiMate puts at the end and modify the description as needed. Save the entry.
3. Repeat steps 1-2.
