Creating a ?blank? work order in EstiMate. A Tutorial.
Procedure Summary:
1. Create a new job with only one free-form line item.
2. Create a template so the blank work order can be re-used over and over again.
Detailed procedure.
1. Click New Job > Add item > Free-form.
2. Enter a description that is just the dash or hyphen ?-?
3. Leave the cost at zero and click the green checkmark to save the line item.
4. Click the book icon to the right of the client dropdown and create a new client called ?1-Templates?.
5. Select the new ?1-Template? client from the dropdown list and click the save icon to save the job.
6. Close the job and follow the template creation procedure below.
Template creation procedure:
1. Click Archives->Expire/Archive old jobs.
2. Check 'show all jobs regardless of date' and make sure to check the job you just created.
3. Click 'Send to Archives.'
4. Click the OK button.
5. Click Archives->Archive Explorer.
6. In the archives, you will find a customer called '1-Templates' (the "1-" before the name is so the record will sort to the top of the list) and under this customer will be the job you just archived. Highlight the job and click 'New job' to create a new estimate based on the old one. Repeat as necessary.
Day-to-day operating procedure.
1. Open the job, change the customer name, and click print > work order. EstiMate will print a blank work order.
Shortcut: You can skip the archiving procedure and just leave the job in your open list and print the blank work order directly. However if you are a busy shop with many estimates and jobs being recorded, you may wish to include the template creation process for best results.
