4.80. How do I figure installs?

I install a lot of the signs I produce. How can I accurately charge for the time and materials involved?

To add installation charges to an estimate, do the following:

1. On the estimate screen click on the 'add item' button in the lower left and select the menu option labeled 'Other'. You will see a screen with tabs for hourly and flat rates.
2. Click the flat rate tab and enter a description and price for the materials involved in the installation. Then click Calculate.
3. Click the OK checkmark to return to the estimate.
4. Repeat steps #1 and 2, but this time click the hourly rate tab, choose to use your production rate, and enter the amount of time required for this installation. Then click Calculate.
5. Click the OK checkmark to return to the estimate.

That's it! You've added the installation to your estimate. Alternatively, if there are repeat quantities of your materials you could create a new entry in the retail items section.
