4.148. How do I price substrates with endcaps?

When I make signs with substrates such as Omega board, how do I
price the sign when I need to add an endcap?

There are two ways to do this in EstiMate:

1. Incorporate the endcap price into the substrate cost.
Procedure: a. Click Edit Data Files > Ingredients > Substrates.
b. Find the substrate you wish to incorporate the endcap cost into, highlight it and select the duplicate button. Highlight and edit the duplicate record. Adjust the description to reflect the end cap i.e. "Omega Board with Endcap" update the cost field accordingly and save the record.

2. Enter the endcap as a linear/square item and the labor for
gluing the endcap on in free-form or repeat labor item.

Procedure: a.) Click Edit Data Files > Ingredients > Linear Square/Items. b.) Enter a description, a cost you want to charge for the encap and the unit you want to charge by i.e. inch, foot etc. c.) When quoting select the linear/square item as a line item on the quote and put in the total number of inches/feet etc. of endcap used on the sign. Add the line item to the quote. d.) Select a new free form line item to add your labor for gluing the endcap on.

In this manner you will be able to price substrates with endcaps.
